[00:00:00] Now, let’s say that you’ve made the doctor’s appointment and you’re ready to go see them. You’re over the age of 70. You’re having problems with dizziness or vertigo, or you’re helping out someone who is. So what to do? Are there things that you can do to prepare? And the answer is yes. So one thing you can do is rule out dehydration.

Just get ahead and, because that’s the first thing your doctor’s gonna go to. Is to say, Are you hydrated well enough? Because dehydration is one of the most common causes of dizziness for those over 70. Get ahead of it and just rule that variable out. Make sure that you’re hydrated well enough and to build a report to your doctor that, yes, I’m drinking this much water and yes, I’m not dehydrated.

And this is what I’m experiencing. Either my symptoms got better or I’m continuing to have these problems. That’s number one. Number two, make sure that you’re staying up to date on your medication list on a regular basis. Make sure that you’re taking your medications as prescribed on a regular basis, as well as

communicate with your doctor on a regular basis about your medications. Communicate about what the other specialists are [00:01:00] bringing in to your medication list. Sometimes other specialists are adding things and if you don’t have your primary care doctor in the loop about what’s going on, about what’s being added, then they can’t help you as far as minimizing those medications you want to on a regular.

Be in contact with your doctor about what are the side effects I’m experiencing, the symptoms I’m having, the updates to the medication list. If they’re able to stay up to date with you on that, then it’s gonna help you feel better. It’s gonna help reduce the complexity of the side effects and the complexity of the interactions.

And then that way when you get something like this that you wanna talk with them about, such as dizziness or vertigo, be rest assured that,

okay, we’re staying up to date on the medication list. And then even if the cause is a medication, it’s gonna be much easier to figure out. So address the dehydration, address the medication list before you go into the doctor if you’re having problems with distance or vertigo, and especially if you’re over the age of 70.
